I apologise for the delayed TGIF this week. Unfortunately, time has not been on my side.

Warm and cloudy morning in auckland temperature highs of 15 degrees

Another week has come and gone.

And what a fucking week it has been.

This week has been stressful for thank god for a stressful week and especially thank god for it is friday. I have been working like an absolute dog, putting in overtime, working late.

In fact, the week has been so busy that I have missed TWO Harry Potter movies that I had actually booked weeks prior.

Two.

I had plans. I had tickets. I had a dream. (Martin Luther King reference)

So thank God it’s Friday.

For Friday is not simply the end of the working week. It is a reminder that eventually, even the busiest and most stressful weeks have to come to an end.

This week has been a grind, but I am grateful for the work. I am grateful for having something worth working hard for. And most importantly, I am grateful that we have made it to the other side.

A SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS

This week, I also want to congratulate our brosef Tommi.

Tommi has officially made the move into the world of IT, and although this may have happened weeks ago and I am only acknowledging it now, I believe congratulations are still valid for thank god it is friday, and thank god for IT because were would we be without IT?

For every new chapter deserves recognition, even if the TGIF committee is slightly late to the announcement.

So congratulations Tommi.

May the IT world be with you. (Darth Vader reference)

May your tickets be resolved quickly.

And may your users actually read the instructions before asking for help.

I also want to congratulate Blake on his recent travels to Amsterdam, where he has spent a large portion of time staring at the re dlight district, for Thank god for the red light district, for that it is these paid professions that really bring the joy in somoens hard working friday in Amsterdam.

For someone has to do it.

THIS WEEK’S REFLECTION

This week has reminded me of something simple.

Sometimes you don’t get the perfect week.

Sometimes you don’t get to watch your movies.

Sometimes you work overtime.

Sometimes you’re tired.

Sometimes Friday arrives and you don’t even know how you got there.

But that’s alright.

Because not every week needs to be extraordinary.

Some weeks are simply about getting through it, while it may seem that alot of these weeks have been a filler week (Naruto reference) it is about making it to the final destination.

And if you can look back on the week and say, I worked hard, I did what I needed to do, and I made it to Friday, then perhaps that is enough.

THINGS I AM GRATEFUL FOR THIS WEEK

• My whanau.
• My friends.
• Our health.
• Our hard work.
• Overtime.
• Harry Potter, despite the two films I missed.
• Tommi entering the IT world.
• Friday.
• And most importantly, the fact that I don’t have to work tomorrow.

For thank God it’s Friday.

I just want to watch Harry Potter. (I am watching Movie 6 today at 6:00 pm)
