Tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou, tēnā koutou katoa and katao you all
I summon you all here on this beautiful Friday morning. Warm and calm morning in Auckland, temperature highs of 14 degrees and lows of 9. Another week has come and gone, and this Friday feels a little different, for thank god for this Friday, for this is a Friday I was looking forward to. Not to end my week but rather to relax.
For this is a Friday of great realisation.
Weeks like these come into our lives for a reason. Some weeks are filled with celebrations, some with success, and some with small little moments that shape our future.
This week, I learnt something.
Discipline is everything.
Not motivation. Not luck. Not waiting until you feel like doing something.
Discipline. For thank god for Disicipline, and thank god for Friday, where I can drop some of that discipline to celebrate the little moments in life.
This week taught me that if I want to work properly, I need to treat my work ethic with the same seriousness that I treat everything else. Early nights. Early mornings. Getting to work on time. Actually being ready to work when the day begins.
Because arriving late to work isn’t just arriving late.
It is a reflection of discipline.
And sometimes the smallest things tell us the most about ourselves.
This week, I want to dedicate the TGIF to the man who helps others, for it is Ryan who is currently helping represent the nation of New Zealand as he works towards bringing a trophy home.
Some quotes
“I helped a man climb a mountain and found that I, too, had reached the top.”
- Bob Procter
“A candle loses nothing in lighting another candle”
You lose nothing when you help someone out.
“You know exactly how it feels, thats where wisdom comes from. It comes from understanding, of going through something in life. Going through something in life where one person that could’ve helped you up, would’ve changed the whole life. Would’ve changed how you perceieve everything. and you know how that feels. So why are you not doing everything possible to help somebody else climb the mountain.
To light somebody else’s candle
To give somebody else help that you wanted, THAT YOU NEEDED.”
So my dear comrades, when I ask to be flashed mid on mirage. I am asking as a man in need.
This quote from William Wallace has resonated the most with me this week, please interpret it how you want.
Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live… at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin’ to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR FREEDOM!
So this week, I am grateful & achievements.
