I summon you all here, on this foggy Friday morning, for this is a Friday of sad and great great significane.

It is a foggy morning in Auckland, or perhaps that is simply my eyes as I write this, because today is a bittersweet day. And honestly, I really don’t know how to begin this email.

For this is a highly anticipated email. One that, if I’m being completely honest, I have purposely left until the very last minute. Because some part of me simply doesn’t want to write it.

Because once I type these words, it really does set everything in stone

See, this week marks the final week in which I will address the weather in Auckland. For next week, I will be waking up in Melbourne, and Auckland will no longer be where I am living.

And I know I’ve spent many a Fridays complaining about this city, its rain, its grey skies, its miserable weather. But somehow, knowing I’ll never again wake up here and have it be my everyday life makes even the things I hated feel strangely sentimental.

For thank god for Auckland, and thank god for the Fridays and memories Auckland has brought all of us.

It was on the 25th of October, 2008, that I arrived in Auckland, having migrated from Aleppo, Syria. Eighteen years ago.

Auckland became the home of my childhood. The home of countless Fridays, countless birthdays, countless milestones, and countless memories that, at the time, I never realised I would one day look back on with such sadness. It was here that I grew up. Here that I met the friends who, somehow, have remained in my life all these years later.

Today marks the last Friday that ahau (I) will call Auckland the place I am living, for it was always be my home. For thank god for Auckland, and most importantly thank god for fridays of great reflection, and great relisation.

For this is a Friday where I urge us to look back on however many years we have called Auckland home, and reflect on the memories, the achievements, the milestones, the first nights of drinking, the first crate day, the first driving lessons, and all the little moments we never thought would one day mean so much.

Seriously, for thank god for Auckland and especially thank god for FRIDAY, for this is a Friday I dreaded but sometimes in life you have to face those fridays of great change, for I am a man who hates change, but needs change.

Now on to a brighter note.

Tommi our E hoa, marks his first week moving into IT, for this is a new change, and thank god for this friday, for thank god for change and new chapters.

Blake our el hombre flew bussiness class from LDN to LAX for our el hombre experienced the life of luxury and hopefully that will motivate him to push harder in the future.

This is a Friday of great significance of our lives, for thank god for milestones.

Blake has offiically ended his tour in Europe supporting Ryan. for once again, Thank god for Ryan.

A couple weeks ago, I asked you to set out a task in which you will make signficant changes in your lives, and on that day, I had confirmed with my parents of me moving away.

Now I urge you all again, please set out a task, whether that it is in one week from now, or five months or 5 years. Do something.
